UK - Wales - London Trip 7 Months ago Karma: 6
Two weeks from today I will be winging my way across the Atlantic for a long overdue UK visit. The first week of the trip will be spent in Wales and then down in the southern countryside. I will be making my first visit to the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle and then we will be winding our way back to London stopping in Glastonbury and Cerne Abbas. The dollar is in the tank but a witch has got to do what a Witch is gonna do. It has been over twelve years since my last "Somerset Fix" and I'm ready to soak up some of the magickal mist that can only be found in Avalon. I also need to replenish my supply of sacred well water.

My excuse for not posting a blog entry in weeks isthat I've been super busy with planning and preparation not to mention trying to get the load of my "Day Job" managed so that I can relax while I'm away. It's no vacation if you have to work three times as hard for a month after you return!

I'll have a laptop with me and hope to be able to post pictures along the way.

Eastward - HO!!!!

It will be so good to see you when you venture this way Owen.

I'm off to Boscastle next week so will pick up information leaflets for you and have various places of eating that I can heartily recommend in the area. It's been two years since Gav and I last spent a week in Cornwall so it will be good to go there again. And yes a stop off in Glastonbury on either the way there or the way back is a must, nothing quite like a nip into Starchild to stock up on the ole herbs.

If there are any particular places of interest that you would like me to collect information leaflets for, let me know and I'll do my best.

Happy flying and see you in two weeks

hugs

Xan

also

please check the local wine shops and advise me if either "Goat Roti" or Goats du Roam" red wine from South Africa is available
I may have to ship some over if not!
I'm rather fond of red wine.

I'm sure we can find some Goats Du Roam ROFL!

haha, I do love that name!

Also we're members of the wine club so have a whole bevy of reds that you can sample!

Will see if the local supermarket stocks it - otherwise the wine Merchant will have it

Right off to Cornwall in the morning - see you soon

Oh, woes, if there is no duty free!

As Christy Moore put it:
Well I swore upon the bible I'd never touch a drop.
My heart was palpitatin' I was sure 'twas going to stop,
Thinkin' I was dyin' I gave my soul to God to keep.
A tenner to St. Anthony to help me get some sleep.
I fell into an awful nightmare - got a dreadful shock.
When I dreamt there was no Duty-free at the airport down in Knock.
Ian Paisley was sayin' the rosary and Mother Teresa was on the pill.
Frank Patterson was gargled and he singin' Spancil Hill.

You folks have a great trip -- mad jealous out west here...

I prefer the W C Fields quote:

That reminds me of my trip to the wilds of Afghanistan. We lost our corkscrew and were forced to survive on food and water for several days.

Havast I have returned with leaflets and info and stuffs.

Oh and our latest box of bottles from the lovely people at the wine club has just turned up.

Nipping to wine merchants on way home from work tomorrow to see if they have your favoured South African tipple lol.

Otherwise you'll have to try a merlot from Chile i believe and oooh a Shiraz from Australia, plus about another 5 differing reds from various regions of the globe

with the amount of vino we have resting in the cellar I'm sure we can find something to suit your taste buds
