My personal take on it is more like the description of the "Light Cone" as described in "Special Relativity".

I realize that many on the path do not care for attempts to use current science jargon to describe the mystic realm and use this diagram simply as the closest I have found to how it all "feels" to me. That point of present observation represents what I see as our individual paths (of shifting circumstance).
Your statement "The well begins the return" is what truly fascinated me though.
IE:
*) Our return to ... ?
*) The return of ... to ?
*) Something entirely other ?
